DMCA & Copyright Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026 · snapshots.cloud respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same.
1. Overview
snapshots.cloud ("we," "us," or "the Service") complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy describes how to submit a copyright infringement notice, how we process such notices, and the rights of users who believe their content was removed in error.
We take copyright claims seriously. At the same time, we recognize that takedown notices can be submitted in error or in bad faith. Submitting a false or misleading notice may expose you to legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
2. Designated Copyright Agent
To submit a DMCA takedown notice or counter-notice, contact our Designated Copyright Agent:
snapshots.cloud
Email: dmca@snapshots.cloud
(This address is for copyright matters only. For general support, use hello@snapshots.cloud.)
Our Designated Agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2).
3. How to Submit a Takedown Notice
If you believe content on snapshots.cloud infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our Designated Agent that includes all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work — describe the work you claim has been infringed, or if multiple works are covered, a representative list.
- Identification of the infringing material — provide enough information to locate the material on our service (e.g., a direct URL).
- Your contact information — your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good faith statement — a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy statement — a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Signature — a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
Notices that do not include all required elements may not be acted upon. We recommend sending your notice to dmca@snapshots.cloud with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice."
4. Our Response to Valid Notices
Upon receipt of a complete, valid takedown notice, we will:
- Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content.
- Notify the user who posted the content that it has been removed.
- Provide the user with a copy of the notice (with personal contact details redacted where appropriate).
- Inform the user of their right to submit a counter-notice.
5. Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe your content was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our Designated Agent. Your counter-notice must include:
- Identification of the removed material — describe the content that was removed and where it appeared before removal (e.g., the URL).
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your contact information — full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- Consent to jurisdiction — a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if you are outside the U.S., any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original notice.
- Signature — a physical or electronic signature.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the removed content after 10–14 business days unless the complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking an order to restrain the user from infringing activity.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), it is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
We track valid DMCA notices received in connection with user accounts. A user who receives two or more valid, uncontested takedown notices — or who demonstrates a clear pattern of uploading infringing content — will have their account reviewed for suspension or permanent termination. We exercise discretion in applying this policy and consider the totality of circumstances, including whether the user submitted a counter-notice and the outcome of any dispute.
Accounts terminated under this policy are not eligible for a refund of unused credits.
7. Abuse of the DMCA Process
We take misuse of the DMCA process seriously. Anyone who knowingly makes a materially misrepresentation in a takedown notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). If we determine that a notice was submitted in bad faith, we reserve the right to restore the removed content and/or disregard future notices from the same party.
8. Content You Upload
By uploading content to snapshots.cloud, you represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to the content, and that your upload does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. Uploading content you do not have rights to is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in account termination.
